Colour Photographs from a Lost World

Albert Kahn was a French banker and philanthropist. In the early 1900s, he financed an expedition to create a catalogue of human life using the then-new medium of colour photographs. The project, which went on to amass 72 000 photos, is the subject of an upcoming BBC documentary.
